2015 is nearly over, and what a year it has been: We have doubled the size of our shop premises, been nominated for several awards, and decorated nearly 500 cakes! As always, we have met some wonderful people along the way, with many of our customers leaving as friends. We have also had many of our original brides and grooms returning for Christening cakes for their little ones, anniversary cakes, or just popping in to say hello. When I (Deb, the decorator) started the business back in 2010, before Dave (the baker) and I had even met, my dream was to have a cake shop where we created long standing relationships with our customers, and it is an absolute joy to know that is just what we have done with many of our brides and grooms.
So what is in store for Vanilla Nova in 2016? Well, for starters, we will be undergoing a slight rebranding: the shop will remain exactly the same, but our online identity is getting an upgrade with a lovely new logo and colour scheme (to tie in with the shop). We will also be closing the shop during wedding appointments to avoid any disruption, and will be adding a little extra seating as we understand that the stools at the counter can be difficult for anyone with mobility problems. We will also be continuing to embrace all of the current and future wedding themes and inspirations, such as gold leaf, vintage lace, and some beautifully modern florals. All in all, 2016 is set to be one exciting year, and we cannot wait to get stuck in to all of the wonderful wedding and celebration cakes we have on our books already.
We will be back from the 5th January, with the shop being open during our normal hours from then. Admittedly, I’m a little behind on our new window display, but trust me, it will be worth it (add us on Instagram for updates)!
